While we are helping the others and also enjoying our pilgrimage trip in Lhadak, something is happening also in Upper TCV, Dharamsala:-

A Leadership Workshop

In the past, Varada Effort has been offering technical support to TCV staff and students by giving Lifeskill Workshop,( to help students to fight against harassment from others in taking part in drugs and unlawful activities), Job related Preparation Workshop (i.e. the basic requirements for job hunting in terms of writing a bio-data and presentation etiquette, etc) and this year a First Aid Workshop for the caretakers and staff plus senior students of various TCVs.
We have actually proposed this workshop for the administration of TCV last year but due to the timing of both the trainer and the trainees availability it was postponed to 2-9 Aug this year, making it the fourth technical support that we have rendered to TCV.
In the end, it was attended by 18 directors, principals, headmasters from various TCVs and head office management staff .
Our Trainer Darryl Chan has adopted a practical approach to give them a real life approach in solving problems encountered in their daily work situation. Team work is encouraged here and a bit of brain storming required, which the trainees found it a refreshing approach to deal with their job scope.
Varada Effort has fully sponsored this workshop for the 8 days by paying not only for all the participants' board and lodging in House of Peace and Dialogue in TCV Upper Dharamsala, but also the material cost for the workshop besides the transport expenses for our trainer. This comes up to a total of Rs 53,3778/-.
Since we have a balance of Rs 58,150/- from the Children Pocket Money Fund this year and also in view of children going on winter program is getting less in the last two years, we have decided to use the balance to offset the cost. After the deduction, we are left with a balance of Rs 4,772/- which we will donate to TCV as general donation to close the whole account.
We will only raise fund for pocket money for the children if there is a need in the future. Thank you for all the generous sponsorship for the past years.
